"Rush Hour 501 BC"
Illustration in wool by S J Ince, in collaboration with E C Mazur. 2022
Textile art, needle-felted by hand in 100% wool.
I created this artwork with fellow Toronto artist, illustrator E C Mazur, depicting vibrant and multicultural Toronto during the rush hour on our beloved 501 Streetcar before it was retired. I started the artwork before the pandemic, but I put it aside during COVID, so the BC stands for 'before COVID', I restarted the piece in 2022 and it was a cathartic and life-reaffirming experience completing this piece.
This piece is currently being exhibited in the Museum of Dufferin's Unity in Diversity show during summer 2024
